Late Wonderful Wednesday || Liking Yourself More

I know that it's Thursday, but I was driving all day yesterday and didn't have time nor the energy to write a blog post and edit a picture.

So let's get to the Wonderful Wednesday quote.

"The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique."
-Walt Disney

I thought this was appropriate from my last post talking about working at things I want to become and do.
Yes, I want to become a better person and work on things more, but I on top of it all, I want to like myself more than anything.

It can be extremely hard in todays society to like yourself when everyone wants to be like everyone else.  Everyone has that kind of vision in their mind for what they should look like, but the most important thing is to like yourself.  It's important to be unique.  It's important to be an individual and be yourself.  Don't think about what anyone else thinks.  Be yourself and think about what is important to you and what you like to do.

I chose a Walt Disney quote because I am 40 days away from my DCP.  40 days away from a dream come true. It's exciting.

He is an inspiration and I love his quotes, so many of my Wonderful Wednesdays might include quotes from Disney, which I love.
I love you all and I hope you have a wonderful, magical day.
Please like yourself, and don't worry about others, because you are important.

LOVE,
KM

WORK AT IT

I've decided that if I want to do something,
I have to put my mind at it and
believe it or not
I have to work at it!

Some of the things I am talking about are:
Piano.
Blogging
Singing.
Preparing for Disney.
Being more outgoing.
Reading.

Piano.
I've been taking piano since I was six years old.
My first piano teacher moved a years later.  So just for a couple of years, I took from someone else. When I turned fourteen, I quit. But I kept playing for fun.  However, I lost some of my technique...
So, when I got to school for Music Education, and I was told that I had to take keyboarding classes or test out, I decided to test out, and I have to before I leave for DCP!!
So in the next month, I have to test out.
So this summer, I've been working hard.  I've been taking lessons from a family member, and I've been working on my skills.  It can be hard, but if I pass out, it will all be worth it!

Blogging.
Now I've been "blogging" for almost two years, but I haven't been keeping up at it like I want to.  So, here's my goal.  If I can blog at least one motivational quote each week, I'll will be happy.  I will put a quarter in a jar and when that jar is filled up, I will buy myself something nice.
Now for those of you reading this, you can help me!
If you can share any of my posts you like and write comments and stuff, it will help me.  But don't feel pressured into doing it!

Singing.
So my focus in Music Ed is choral.  So I've been taking voice lessons, but this summer, I've been slacking....
So this week my grandma will be giving me a lesson (she's a fabulous teacher), and I'll try to at least warm my voice up and keep it healthy every day!

Preparing for Disney.
I'm scared.
Really scared, but I'm also really excited.
And because of this fear and excitement, I haven't really known what to do with myself and what to do to prepare.  I was late on the bandwagon for finding the Facebook groups and such, and I was late on the bandwagon for finding roommates.  But I'm getting on it. And daily, I am going on the pages and going on the Disney Careers website and finding out what I need to do.

Being more outgoing.
It's been hard for me.  To put myself out there and be outgoing and ask friends to hang out.  So, sometimes, I'm at home and I'm lonely and bored.  But I've been trying to contact my friends and hang out more and put myself out there.  And when I get to Disney, I'm hoping I won't be that scared and nervous anymore and that I'll just introduce myself and be outgoing.  We shall see!

Reading.
Lately (like the past couple years), I've been reading less and less and been on my computer watching Netflix and stuff more than reading.  But I've been trying to read more.  I've going to the library and getting more books and I have a lot.  I had to return the Yearbook and they didn't have another one available, so I picked up several other books and now I'm reading "Nobody's Princess" by Esther Friesner.   I'm almost done and it is really good!
It tells the story of Helen of Sparta who will become Helen of Troy.  I love Greek Mythology, and I'm loving this book a lot!  I'd recommend it!

I'm going to start Wonderful Wednesdays, where I will post a quote and talk about it and what it means to me!  So stay tuned!

I encourage you all to think about the things you want to become and think about the things you want to work!  I love you all and hope you have a magical day!

44 DAYS TO DCP!!!

Writing and Mara

I sat down this evening to write a short post.
But I wasn't sure at first what I was going to write.
I thought about my day.

Briefly:
I nanny my cousin, so I watched her today
And I stepped on a bee.
So my arch on my foot is really sore right now.

I also thought about posting a bit of my writing from one of my creative writing
But I just realized that someone could plagiarize.
And that my work is my own and personal
And for now, I only want to share it with close friends and family
So.. That's a no.

I guess I'll mention that I finally finished the book I was reading.
I posted about it a little bit ago
It was Mara: Daughter of the Nile
By Eloise Jarvis McGraw

It's about an Egyptian slave girl,
Who then is bought as a spy,
But then becomes a double spy.
It's very interesting and I loved the concept.

For the last about a hundred pages,
I was hooked.
It did take a little bit to get into the actual story,
And I don't think I would recommend it to someone who hates reading.
But I would recommend it to someone who loves reading.
I really did enjoy it.

I'm now onto another book
Entitled:
Yearbook
By: Allyson Braithwaite Condie

I'll post about what I think of it so far when I get a little farther in.

Anyways,
I hope you have a wonderful night and day.
Until next time.

LOVE,
KM
