This touched my heart in more ways than I can explain.  It is bittersweet, and can make you think.  Comments welcome.

Faith and Love!

This weekend, I was able to celebrate my friends birthday.  She is one of my best friend and has been since we were five years old.  Now she's nineteen and I will be too soon! I feel so at home with her here and close.  Especially since this week was hard with homesickness.  It was nice to be able to talk to her, and I also slept over at her dorm.  It was nice to be able to spend the night with someone close to home.  Friends are one of the things in life I cherish most.I shared with her some of my favorite things about her and how I hope we always have this friendship.  Friends are the best things in the world and I hope you all know that and find someone you can trust as I trust this person.

On top of this great Friday night, I got to spend today watching LDS General Conference.  It's something I've always loved to watch and look forward to, but I was overly excited this year for conference, and I don't know why.  It was amazing!  I felt that President Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk was meant for me, and I love it.  It was about coming and joining, but there were many parts of the talk that were specifically aimed at me I felt like.  I can't wait till tomorrow, and I will let you all  know some of my thoughts about it!

The Beginning of Something New

Hey y'all,

So I've decided to start this blog to share my life with all those who may be interested.  But also to get my grasp on writing.  As many of you know, I am currently interested in writing.  I have written a one act, a couple of short stories, and I currently have finished my first novel.  They are all fiction and the novels I am currently writing are all fiction.  Some are fantasy, some are modern.  I have a variety, but things just come to me and I have to write it down.  I have lost some works before and it's been tragic, so I try to keep them safe.  I'll update you on some of those, maybe I'll even give you small bits to my stories.  I also have admired those who have blogged in the past and want to tell them how much their blogging means to me, even if they never hear it from me, I hope they know it's made a difference in the lives of many others.

Anyways,  I am currently attending Utah Valley University and I am double majoring in Music Education and Theatre, knowing the time commitment and the extra years of school it require.  It is hard work but it is a lot of fun.  Right now, I am not taking GE's, but I plan to do so in the spring, and I also am wanting to go study abroad with theatre in Europe during the summer.  Life is so short, why waste it away.

My favorite class right now is actually my institute class, or religion class at the UVU LDS Institute on campus.  I don't have many people I know in the class, but my teacher, Brother Bartholomew, is amazing!  I just wish I could share everything that comes to mind with all of you because it is spiritually inviting and thrilling.  Today, I raised my hand to comment on a matter we spent the entire class on.  It was thrilling to hear everyone else's remarks, but I felt prompted to share several things that had come to mind, when usually I am the quiet girl in the back corner who listens to others, but doesn't participate.  That does not mean, however, that I am socially inactive, because I have many friends and try to get together with people frequently in my tight schedule.  But, I can be shy, especially among my peers.  I am trying to get out of that shell though.  :)

College is a lot of fun, and though it is different in many ways, I am enjoying the change.  Wow, I'd never thought I'd say that.  I AM ENJOYING CHANGE!  That is exciting.  Change can be scary at times, but it can also be good.  So, remember, there is no need to fear when there is faith, and friends, and family, and good to go all around! Going from VA to UT is different and was terrifying in it's own ways, but going to college and being so far away from my parents is another.  Yet, I am living with my grandparents and I am so close to many of my cousins and family members.   Everyone is helping me with this huge change in my life.  And along with faith, I know I don't need to fear! <3

I hope this blog proves it's purpose to me.  It may be entertaining to you all to read about my life and hear more about my life, but for me it's to help me become a better writer.  Yet, it also feels good to be able to write and let others read my statements and life stories, I just hope I can become better with it.  I don't always get to write my works because of writer's block or time, but hopefully I will have time to update this every week, or every few days.

Love to all,

Kestra
